5 autumn-winter 2019 trends

Autumn is coming in a few days, and winter will follow…That’s why today we offer to your attention 5 key trends to adopt ahead of these seasons.

  • Feathers

The most prominent trend to come out of the autumn/winter 2019 shows was feathers. They were shown in various forms – some extravagant and some more subtle. For example, at Marc Jacobs, ball gowns were covered in luxurious plumage, while Roksanda and Mary Katrantzou gave them a colourful finish.

  • Bucket hat

At Tom Ford and Anna Sui, floppy, oversized bucket hats were given the fluffy, faux-fur treatment, making them autumn appropriate. Meanwhile, at Valentino, it was a lace (and sculptural) take on the style.

  • Big bags

Seen at Sportmax, Lacoste, Off-White and Rejina Pyo, handbags were almost the size of overnight bags, carried under the arm or slung over the shoulder. This is one of the most useful trends of the season – for once, you will be able to house everything you need.

  • Highlighter heels

Seen at Emilio Pucci, Victoria Beckham and, most prominently, at Saint Laurent, bright-coloured court shoes look to be a favourite ahead of the new season. Pucci and Saint Laurent certainly favoured them for the evening, meanwhile Beckham’s catwalk proved that they might just be the perfect addition to your officewear.

  • Beige colour

Shown in head-to-toe incarnations at Jil Sander, Burberry and Max Mara, this colour was also given an evening spin at Valentino and was mixed with other earthy tones at Fendi. It’s an easy one to adopt and a trend that will stand the test of time.
